Steven Jackson Selected To Pro Bowl

Steven Jackson was selected to the Pro Bowl on Tuesday. The NFC will have three running backs with Adrian Peterson and Michael Turner joining Jackson for the game which will be played January 30th in Honolulu. This is Jackson's third time being selected to play in the Pro Bowl.

Steven Jackson has 1196 rushing yards on 319 carries and 6 touchdowns so far this season. In addition Steven is the Rams 3rd leading receiver with 42 receptions for 344 yards. Jackson's 1540 total yards ranks him 2nd in the NFC heading into week 17.

Not to take anything away from Jackson who is the ultimate warrior and heart of the St. Louis Rams his numbers are not outstanding. At 3.7 yards per carry Jackson is behind most other backs in the NFC. Jackson however faces a ton of 8 man fronts and has battled injuries and rang the bell week in and week out to help his team.

No other Rams player will join Jackson in Honolulu. Other than James Laurinaitis who has 105 tackles or James Hall who has 10.5 sacks, nobody really has the stats to justify a position in this game in 2010.
